5 of the Most Awesome On- & Off-Road Convertibles

Yes, we love convertibles. They are a symbol of freedom and success that can turn any normal drive into a refreshing, relaxing experience to remember. We all have our favorite convertibles, and the types of activities you are into likely help determine your choice. Well, we’ve put together our top five favorite convertibles for various types of drivers and terrains. It was difficult to narrow it down, but after some serious consideration, we feel that this list has something for everyone.

1.  Jeep Wrangler – This one is a no-brainer. The Jeep Wrangler is known for its ability to handle some pretty rugged terrain with relative ease and is much more than an off-road convertible; it’s a lifestyle. Whether it’s rocky, muddy or sandy, the Jeep Wrangler’s powerful V6 engine, 4-wheel drive and flexible suspension give it the edge when it comes to conquering the ‘roads’ less travelled. The Jeep Wrangler also has great towing capacity and comfortably seats four adults.

2. The Mini Cooper – This is a favorite of convertible drivers everywhere for its versatility and ability to zip around any obstacle before most drivers can find their blinkers (which, of course, you should always use). These cars are sturdy and lightweight and can get around 32 mpg on the highway – depending on the model. While these compact cars may not conquer boulders and deep puddles, you will be able to park it anywhere and travel in style.
3. Ford Mustang Cobra – The Ford Mustang Cobra is an American classic that is the best of the best when it comes to Mustangs. Cobra convertible drivers take great pride in their vehicles, as did Ford when they made them. The Ford Mustang Cobra has a powerful V8 engine and boasts over 400 horsepower – depending on the model and engine modifications. With all that power, these convertibles are great for the racetrack as well as cross-country drives. The final Mustang Cobras were made around 2004, so if you see one, grab it!
4. The Volkswagen Beetle – This unique convertible sometimes gets overlooked, but it is great fun to drive, lightweight and can maneuver exceptionally well. The Beetle will always be Volkswagen’s most popular car and was the first to sell 20 million vehicles. Beetle convertible drivers are another dedicated bunch who pride themselves on their vehicle knowledge and the rich history of the Volkswagen Beetle convertibles.

 5. Jaguar E-Type – The Jaguar E-Type, or XK-E is as beautiful and stylish as they come. The Jaguar XK-E comes loaded with features including plush bucket seats, a powerful V6 engine and stable rear-wheel drive control. Upon its release, the Jaguar XK-E was the fastest production car on the market. Jaguar E-Type drivers are extremely proud, loyal and are known to keep their cars in exceptional condition.

While these are some of our favorite convertibles, the list could go on and on. But we wanted to include something for everyone. Whether you are interested in an off-road convertible or a convertible that packs a punch on the streets, we’ve got everything you need including hard and soft convertible tops, boot covers, headliners, and seat cover kits.
