Driving a
convertible car in the winter time can be an exhilarating experience if the
climate is not too harsh and you’re properly prepared. With some decent weather
and awesome upgrades like a wind diffuser, portable heater, and a few cozy
blankets, the adventure never has to end! As with any road trip, winter driving
means you’ll need to check the tire pressure before heading out and make sure
your convertible is ready for the challenge. Once that’s taken care of, you
should check out some of these scenic drives we and our fans have come to love.
Pacific Coast Highway
The
Pacific Coast Highway is an iconic stretch of highway that hugs the California
coastline from San Diego to San Francisco. This beautiful highway is 659 miles
long with only a few spots where the coast is not visible. The drive offers
amazing sunsets and views of the cliffs you can enjoy for miles. It is the
longest state highway in the nation and, along with many other amazing
landmarks, is the pride of California.
Red Rock Scenic Byway
The Red
Rock Scenic Byway in Arizona boasts some of the most extraordinary views in the
country. The red rocks display an endless array of formations and colors with incredible
and historic points of interest along the way. The byway runs through Coconino
National Forest and along portions of Dry Beaver Creek with plenty of scenic
stops along the way.
Capital of Texas Highway
The
Capital of Texas Highway (Loop 360) is a scenic route along west Austin and
winds through the Texas Hill Country. The highway shows off excellent views of
downtown Austin and the capitol building as well as some of the most
breathtaking views of the Colorado River, the Barton Creek Greenbelt, and the
Wild Basin Wilderness Reserve. This highway is popular among amateur and professional
cyclists due to its hilly nature, so keep an eye out when enjoying this amazing
drive.
State Route 197 – Georgia
The southeastern
USA enjoys some of the most iconic and breathtaking views in the nation and
Georgia’s State Route 197 is no exception. State Route 197 runs along portions
of the Soquee River, curves around Moccasin Creek Cove, and connects with Lookout
Mountain Scenic Highway at its most northern point. Enjoy all that Nantahala National
Forest to offer, as well, as you course along this beautiful stretch of highway.
These are
