5 Favorite Expensive Convertibles from 2015

Expensive convertibles are nice to look at, but they’re even nicer to drive. They control the road and demand recognition, power and grace. Here’s our list of our top 5 favorite expensive convertibles launched in 2015.

Starting out our list is the 2016 Audi R8 priced just above $117,000. With a V8 engine described as “potent,” this convertible is nimble and quick, despite its spacious interior. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in only 4.2 seconds, but if you were to step into one with a V10 engine, you could accelerate to 60 in only 3.4 seconds! The Bluetooth, seven-speaker audio system, and heated, power-adjustable seats complement the Audi R8’s top speed of 168 mph.

Second is the 2016 Porsche 911 priced at around $90,000. Averaging at about 19/26 mpg city/highway, this vehicle is one of the sharpest handling sports cars in the market. It generates 430 horsepower and 331 pound-feet of torque, thanks to its 3.8-liter six-cylinder engine. And with satellite and HD radio, adaptive cruise control and a 12-speaker Bose sound system, the Porsche 911 quickly became the favorite test-driving vehicle last year.

Next up is the 2016 Ferrari 458 Spider that goes for about $243,000. Anyone who loves the wind in their hair and the roar of a Ferrari would love to take this car from 0 to 60 in 3 seconds. The car can reach a top speed of 202 mph because of its 4.5 L V8 engine and 570 horsepower. When it comes to nice convertibles, the Ferrari 458 Spider takes the cake with an “X-Acto knife styling and an intense interior,” according to Car and Driver.

The 2015 Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead costs about $492,000, but is on our list for its slick, classic look and robust style. The 6.8 L V12 engine growls beautifully as it zips down the highway, going a top speed of 148 mph. Perfect for the driver with a few extra friends, the Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead has four seats instead of only two, making it one of the most popular expensive convertibles of last year.

Finally, last on our list, is the 2016 Lamborghini Aventador, which will cost you about $493,095. Speed down the highway in this artwork of engineering, riding on a 6.5 L V12 engine and 740 horsepower. Accelerating from 0 to 60 in 2.7 seconds, give it more time and the convertible will reach an incredible top speed of 220 mph. Celebrities such as Kanye West, Floyd Mayweather, and Christiano Ronaldo can also be seen stepping out of the iconic scissor doors. The Lamborghini Aventador is an incredible piece of machinery and, without question, tops our list of favorite expensive convertible from 2015. Plus, it has cup holders!
